What's all this NuFunk about then?Its the new sound of breakbeat and I loves it. Artists like A-Skillz, Featurecast and Def-Cut are churning out funky, hip-hop/funk influenced breaks which are slaying parties, clubs and festivals all over the world.
The cool thing is many of the tunes use recognisable hooks, raps and samples, so it really gets the crowd grooving.
Its like breaks, but less ravey and more lady-friendly, and that's a good thing. :)
I will be playing a gig in Brixton Jamm shortly (as B-Roll), details and sample mix to follow later, but in the meantime enjoy this superb promo mix from Featurecast.
